Alappuzha - Also known as Alleppey
This can be called the 'Venice of the East' owing to the number of water canals. The sunset and sunrise reflects on the backwaters of God's own country. The various shades of sunset at the backdrop of swaying coconut trees on distant and near headlands creates a spectacular sight to behold. Alappuzha Beach
Alleppey is a network of freshwater rivers, lagoons and beautiful canals. There are adventure activities and tourists can hang out here if looking for quiet nature time. This gives the perfect view where the land and sea meets the sun which makes this the most preferred tourist hotspot. Apart from the scenery there is a Vijaya Beach Park and toy bicycle rides for kids.

Alleppey Lighthouse
It is much more than exciting or fun to get up the towering high heritage site. You can get the perfect view of the most distant ships travelling across the Arabian Sea. This century-and-a-half old Alappuzha Lighthouse is imported from England and lies near Sea Bridge. The tower is surrounded by natural habitat that gives a ‘wonderland look’.

Sri Krishna Temple
This is one of the oldest temples dating back to the 15th to 17th century AD. The temple portrays an idol holding a whip in the right hand and a revered conch in the other palm. The temple that is connected to another called Guruvayoor Sri Krishna Temple gives an appearance of floating on the waters of Kerala's Alappuzha district.

Marari Beach
This scenic spot with lots of coconut trees is in close vicinity of Alappuzha, a local village of Mararikulam. Mostly into fishing there are few Ayurveda massage Centers offering health treats for tourists. This absolutely quiet and white beach waters with a clear blue sky is the perfect relaxation destination to experience a sunny and windy day.

St. Mary's Forane Church
Situated in the lovely district of Alappuzha this St. Marys Syro Malabar Catholic Church distantly appears to 'float atop the waters.' The church that hosts several feasts and celebrates various Christian Festivals in serenity and Joy looks like a castle rock. There are rare artefacts and exquisite rock inscriptions with information on this spectacular Forane Church.
Best Time to Visit Alappuzha
Summers and monsoons are not advisable as it is hot and humid in summer. There is too much of rain in the monsoon. Hence, it is best to visit the beautiful town of Alappuzha in winter months during November to March. This is the best time to enjoy all the tourist spots.

The closest international Airport is the Cochin airport in Kerala which is 75 km from Alappuzha. There are cabs and taxis available from there.

There is a unique shopper’s experience here at red- white checks exterior on the Floating Triveni. Like the Bangkok Floating Mall is one here on the Vembanand Lake offering provisions, stationary and several other items.
